The Welsh born artist and illustrator Huw Brys has until recent years been one of the lesser known cultural figures in Europe. Due to an increased interest in his work through his association with Picasso, Jim Morrison and Psychedelic Music the Huw Brys Foundation has undertaken to maintain this website as a more official source of information on the artist.

The site contains a brief biography and his family background. Of particular interest is the influence of his maternal grandmother and her relationship with Picasso.

The biography has some details of his late teens, the time spent in San Francisco in 1967 and his move to Paris during the student unrest of 1968.

Brys met the writer and ‘cultural agitator’ Huw Llewelyn Davies in Paris in 1968 and details of his ongoing support for and sponsorship of The Cymmer Rouge are provided together with a link to other sites.

The biography also includes those known details of his brief acquaintance with Jim Morrison prior to the singers death in Paris in 1971. Since that time Brys has been domiciled in France with some time spent
